Procedure for the grant :

1. Research of the database of registered trademarks (not possible so far)
2. Filing the application
3. Formal examination
4. Registration and trademark certificate issuance

 

Filing Requirements :

- Exact and full (company) name and address of the Applicant(s) ;
- Appearance of the trademark. If a trademark is a device or logo, 7 prints are needed. Size of prints: not larger than 8 x 8 cm and not smaller than 15 mm in diameter. No prints are needed for wordmarks.
- List of goods and services classified in accordance with Nice Classification
- Power of Attorney, simply signed by the Applicant(s), no legalization or notarization required - can be submitted subsequently or within a certain term as from the receipt of the Official Invitation. This term can be extended, on motivated demand, for the time considered appropriate ;
- Priority date, country and application number, if priority is claimed. Priority Certificate is required with verified translation ;
- The regulations for using the collective mark (for collective mark application)

 

Duration of the registered trademark :

- 10 years from the date of filing the application, with unlimited number of 10-years-renewals.
- If a trade mark is not used on the domestic market for five years from the date of its entry in the register or from its last use, it may be cancelled.

Recording changes in the Register:

Requirements for recordal of Assignment of rights

- Power of Attorney simply signed by the Assignor
- Power of Attorney simply signed by the Assignee
- Assignment document signed by the Assignor and the Assignee. Document must be legalized or notarized by Notary Public and affixed with Apostille. A verified translation is to be filed.

Requirements for recordal of Change of name

- Power of Attorney indicating the new name, simply signed by a representative of the Company

Requirements for recordal Change of address

- Power of Attorney indicating the new address, simply signed by a representative of the Company
